Recently, the Third Academic Conference on Rare Diseases of Chongqing Medical Association, which was organized by Chongqing Medical Association and undertaken by Chongqing Medical Association Rare Diseases Branch, was successfully held. More than 80 rare disease experts and scholars from all over the city attended the meeting.

Liu Yuliang, Director of the Medical Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Municipality, was the opening host of the meeting. Lv Furong, Chairman of the Rare Diseases Branch of Chongqing Municipal Medical Association, and Zeng Yi, Deputy Director of the Department of Medical Administration of Chongqing Municipal Health and Wellness Commission, delivered speeches for the meeting respectively.

Mr. Lv Furong, Chairman of Chongqing Medical Association Rare Diseases Branch, reviewed the achievements made since the establishment of the Branch in promoting inter-disciplinary exchanges and cooperation, gathering professionals, integrating disciplinary strengths, and strengthening synergistic innovation. He said that the disease burden of rare diseases is heavy, the social concern is high, and the demand for improving diagnosis and treatment level and developing effective drugs is very urgent. Under the guidance of the “Healthy China” strategy and with the support of various policies, we should continue to vigorously promote the development of rare diseases.
