Established in 2019, the National Health Commission Functional Brain Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Key Laboratory is the first key laboratory of the National Health Commission approved by Chongqing Medical University. The laboratory focuses on the research field of brain science and carries out basic and clinical research on major brain diseases such as depression and cerebral hemorrhage.

The laboratory is now equipped with electrophysiology platform, microbiology platform, systems biology platform, molecular biology platform, cell biology platform, pathology and morphology platform, animal behavior platform, and bioinformatics data analysis platform, including PacBio three-generation sequencer, Beckman Coulter flow cytometer and analyzer, AXon membrane clamp system, Leica ultra-high-resolution Laser Scanning Confocal Microscope System, GS-MS/MS Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry, High Precision Colony Detection and Sorting System, Olympus Whole Slide Scanning System, PerkinElmer Multi-Modality Small Animal Live Imaging System, Anaerobic Workstation, Leica Fully Automated Dewaterer, Embedder, Normal Slicer, Frozen Slicer, and Fully Automated Immunohistochemistry Instrument, Multi-Channel Fiber Optic The laboratory has been responsible for various precision equipments such as national major scientific research programs.

The laboratory has undertaken key projects such as National Major Scientific Research Program (973 Program), National Key R&D Program, National High Technology Research and Development Program (863 Program), and International Cooperation of National Natural Science Foundation of China, and has obtained more than 90 million yuan of vertical research funds. We have published 405 SCI papers in New England, The Lancet and other journals with the highest impact factor of 91.25 points, and the total number of SCI citations is 14,533, with the highest number of citations being 1,310. The original scientific research achievements have won the second prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress, the first prize of Chinese Medical Science and Technology, the first prize of Chongqing Natural Science, the first prize of Chongqing Scientific and Technological Progress and other awards.

The laboratory has the National 973 Chief Scientist, the Ministry of Organization of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (MOPCC), the “Ten Thousand People's Plan” of the Ministry of Organization of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (MOPCC), the State Council Special Allowance Recipient, the Ministry of Health Outstanding Contributions to the Youth and Young Professionals, the Third and Fourth Presidents of Neurology Branch of the Chinese Physicians Association, and the Four, Fifth, and Sixth Vice-Presidents of Neurology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Neurology Division of the Chinese Medical Association, a member of the Young Yangtze River Scholars, a member of the Young Ten Thousand People's Plan, a member of the Chongqing Jieqing Youth, a member of the Chongqing Yingcai-Young Top Talents, and a member of the Chongqing Young and Middle-aged High-end Talents in Medical Science.
